Our half term city break with the KIDS!!

So this half term I actually had 8 days off!! My longest streak this year and my goodness did I need it! We decided earlier in the year that we were going to have a break with the kids and go to our new favourite city, Prague. Some good friends decided to join us with their children too so we had a healthy group of 9 all packed and ready to fly out from Stansted on Tuesday morning. After a customary Wetherspoons breakfast, we were off for 3 nights in the Czech capital.

This trip promised to be completely different to when I and the future wife visited last year, with more child-friendly activities planned and a less local dining experience too.

We booked 2 x 2 bedroomed apartments at the MH Apartments River Prague, which were stunning and in the perfect location for all of our needs with shops, bars and restaurants aplenty immediately outside.

If you have never visited Prague, it is incredibly easy to get around and the local travel passes work out at about £3pp and cover the underground, buses and trams, which can get you all the way from the airport to the city centre and literally covers every point of interest. They are regular and clean and with the aid of Google Maps it just makes travelling with little ones so must less stressful!

If you ever decide to follow suit and take your little ones to Prague, top of your list needs to be Prague Zoo, which we spent a whole day at. Accessible using a couple of trams and a bus ride, IT IS HUGE! Shockingly a family ticket will only set you back about £20 for a family of 4, bargain. The enclosures are nice and big and there will be some creatures that I’m sure will excite the kids. My personal favourite was the dude below.
