Mary Berry Set To Host A River Cruise!!

So it appears the queen of baking is taking to river cruising and has teamed up with luxury river cruise line Emerald. Over the years, the famous cook will be on board the Emerald Radiance completing 8-day itineraries along the beautiful Douro in Portugal. The Radiance which was purpose-built to navigate the Douro, starts and finishes in Porto and will take guests through some of Portugal’s most stunning scenery. Along the route, the cruise visits some of Portugal’s best vineyards and as the world’s producer of Port, I’m sure there will be a glass or 12 sampled.

“I can see why people are so taken with river cruising,” says Mary. “As someone who is fascinated by travel, culture and food destinations, I think it’s the perfect way to experience them plus Portugal’s Douro Valley, which has remained unchanged for centuries, is a real hidden gem.”

Whilst on the trip, guests will have the chance to join the former Bake Off judge for an afternoon tea, and she will also be putting together one of the evening meals with a sumptuous 3-course offering. She will also be delivering a talk onboard and no doubt taking questions from the guests.

The sailing in question departs on the 22nd June 2019, so there is not much in the way of availability left, as you can imagine, it’s been rather popular.

The itinerary is as follows;
Day 1 – Arrival Porto
Day 2 – Porto – Pinhao
Day 3 – Pinhao – Vega de Terron
Day 4 – Salamanca
Day 5 – Pocinho
Day 6 – Regua
Day 7 – Porto
Day 8 – Porto Disembarkation
