What a wicked weekend

A couple of weekends ago my family and I visited London again for the weekend like we did the same weekend last year. Unfortunately this year the Winter Wonderland was not planned to open the same weekend so we missed out on this. We decided to go by train this year and booked a hotel in Covent Garden.
We arrived on Friday and we just had a little look down Oxford Street before we went to our hotel to change for the Theatre. We went to see Wicked at the Appollo theatre. I am not really up on the west end shows and my children had told me it was to do with the Wizard of Oz. It took me a while but then I got the storyline it was a great show though we all loved it !!

On Saturday we had booked to go to the Sky Garden one of the tallest buildings in London. It was free to get in but you have to book. We went up 37 floors in the lift and it was like a tardis it went so quick. Up at the top, they have different viewing areas a restaurant and a couple of bars. I loved it and the views were great. Not the cheapest place to have a drink in but it was lovely and well worth it.

We then went to The Tower of London which if you read my blog last year was the first thing on our list to do this year and this was really interesting and obviously, the highlight for me was the crown jewels ….

Later on we met up with my niece and her family who was also visiting for the weekend for my great nephews 7th birthday

The plan was to go ice skating but unfortunately, they were all fully booked so we just wandered around and took in the Christmas lights.

Sunday we went along to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guards, on to Big Ben and the houses of parliament.
We had a great weekend again. My top tip that was given to me was using my family saver card to get two for one voucher’s on all the top places to see and we saved a fortune.

I am now on annual leave for a lot of December and I have got lots planned which I’m sure you will hear about in the month.

Starting with my girls shopping weekend and this year we are having a change and going to Liverpool with lots of lovely things planned.

Over and out for now …
