My time on board Britannia

I was lucky enough to be invited on board P&O’s newest recruit the Britannia a couple of weeks ago . I wanted to share some of my photos and thoughts of the ship.
We arrived at Southampton and the entrance to the Ocean Terminal all decorated ready for our arrival ( actually it was just the day after the queens visit )

We boarded the ship and went straight to the place I had been most looking forward to seeing ‘The Atrium’and it really was just how the pictures protrayed it with the centre piece the Starburst

We sat her during the day and also for a while in the evening it had a great atmosphere you could grab a drink coffee or cocktail from the Blue bar or grab a bite to eat from Eric Lanyards Market cafe .

The decor of the ship is very modern although some people thought it was a bit dark the ship is designed in the style of a 5* boutique it was definately to my taste.
One of the highlights on the ship is the Cookery club where the Food heroes hold their masterclasses and are onboard on selected dates

Keeping on the subject of food the Britannia has three main dining rooms we dined on the first evening in the Peninsular which was adequate nothing really wow about the venue however the food was fantastic. If you prefer something more informal then head up to the Horizon Buffet restaurant and as this goes its one of the best I have been in with three seperate food stations so it wasn’t manic with people tripping over each other or bumping into each other with trays.

On our second evening we dined in the Beach House which was one of the speciality restaurants and if you want fine dining with attentive service then just turn up no need to book for a small service charge of £5 it was well worth it .

The one place I could just imagine myself on a sea day would be in the Sanctuary the adults only area which was so peaceful with lush sunbeds .

Definately one of P&O’s best ships but what wasn’t P&O’s best was the service and I believe it was the general feel whilst on board certainly not the creme of the crop I was lead to believe had been hand picked. After speaking with a lady who is incharge of staff training onboard Im sure that will change promto . It was certainly not the service with a smile we expect. I could of stayed onboard and showed them how it was done .

If there is anything you want to know or any questions you want to ask I would be happy to help just give me a call .
