A big bang on the Navigator …..

As the news hit the headlines earlier this week of how she came into difficulties whilst on her Canary Island cruise the latest news just released is that in February next year she is set to have $115 refurbishment.
Following on from the Independence of the Seas refurb earlier this year the Navigator is next and she has some great plans in store.

The whole top deck will be transformed and a waterpark will be added ‘Perfect storm’ with two new waterslide experiences.
‘The Blaster’ will be a first for Royal. Cruisers will hop on a two-person raft that takes them through more than 800 feet of hills, drops and straightaways, including a section that extends out over the side of the ship.
The second waterslide is the ‘ Riptide ‘it will be the industry’s only headfirst mat racer to date.

If you are looking for something a little more relaxing then the top deck is being transformed into a Caribbean-inspired theme. The pool will be enlarged and a Splash Pad will be added for toddlers.

There will be several restaurants and bars added also during the refurb, both in the ship’s Royal Promenade and on the top deck.
On the Royal Promenade they will add the Bamboo Room, also on Mariner of the Seas. This is a Polynesian-themed lounge serving cocktails. They will also add the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, featuring 50 big-screen TVs for catching live sports, tabletop games, trivia, tournaments and a new Owner’s Box VIP room. Jamies’s Italian as well as a seafood restaurant and starbucks are also in the plans to be added.

On the pool deck there will be a two-level bar added called the ‘Lime and Coconut’ this is set to be open later and will have live music. Johny Rockets are going to have an express grab and go up on top deck also as well as a Mexican.

An industry’s first will be a blow dry bar at sea, this will be located on the Royal Promenade. Get pampered whilst enjoying a selection of wines and champagne.

As well as some redesigned and enhanced children’s areas they are also going to include a glow-in-the-dark laser tag.

Sounds fab and I hope it goes down as well as the Independence refurb.
