You’re going on a cruise mum!

Well as it was ‘Mother’s Day’ yesterday – it was time to tell my mum she is going on a cruise for her 70th birthday!

I didn’t get to go to Bolton to tell her in person so I had to tell her over the phone.  My mum was overjoyed with the news and is really looking forward to it. She panicked about her passport being in date as it has been a while since she used it, needless to say she found it and it is in date till May 2014.  So she won’t need to get a new one till she goes on her next cruise (as I’m sure she is going to love it).

Now I need to sort her travel insurance out – more money to pay out – this birthday is costing me a fortune, but I’m sure it will be worth it.

I had an amazing ‘Mother’s Day’ – my daughter Kim bought me lots of lovely presents and a beautiful card which was like a book with beautiful words in it – it brought a tear to me eye when I read it.

Kim took me to the cinema so we had a lovely afternoon just the two of us – quality time with my precious girl as she practically lives with her dad now as it’s easier for school but she does come to stay at home whenever she can (but not enough for me).

We watched a film called ‘Safe Haven’ – a really good watch if like a trip to the cinema. It’s a girlie chick flick so be warned, maybe just for us ladies to watch.

I hope all you mums out there had a lovely day!

Now we are all counting down the days to our cruise in July – only 4 & a half months to go.

As we are going on a fly-cruise our luggage is minimal, so what to get mum as a present that won’t take up too much space, that is the question. Kim suggested that we wait till we are on board and buy her something from the shops or from one of the ports of call.  A great idea Kim – we’ll discuss that with the rest of the family and decide before we go.

Has anyone ever celebrated a birthday on board?
Where can I get a ‘Helium Balloon’ from?
Will they make a cake for me on board?

Looks like I’ve got some homework to do to check out all these answers – so watch out for my blog with the answers so you’ll know if you ever celebrate a special occasion on board a cruise.

Call me on 0800 408 6108 or email me at [email protected] to book your next cruise or maybe that special occasion cruise.
