Wedding Plans, Wembley, Wimbledon & Weather!!

So my wedding is getting closer and everything is done now so just a waiting game till the day.  Who said you can’t organise a wedding in 3 months which doesn’t cost the earth – believe me it can be done as I am living proof of that.

This week I had the final fitting for my dress so the next time I put it on will be the wedding day – 26th July. I am getting really excited now along with my daughter Kim who is my bridesmaid and witness at the register office.  The end of last week I went up to Manchester to stay with my brother as his daughter, my niece Jessica who is only 2 years old is my flower girl so we went shopping to The Trafford Centre to buy her dress, shoes and accessories, she looks adorable in her dress and called it her ‘dancing dress’ – she is really looking forward to the party at night as she loves to dance. Just hope she leaves some room for the rest of us to dance. Bless her!

The table decorations have been ordered as my friends Tara & Karen are decorating the room for us, I know it will look amazing as they also did the room for my 40th party a couple of years ago.  I can’t wait to see it on the day.

I have been very lucky with this wedding as we have a friend who runs a DJ company so has sorted out our DJ as a wedding present, I have another friend who makes cakes so is doing our wedding cake as a present – as they say ‘It’s not what you know but who you know’ and in a case like this it is perfect.  You find out who your real friends are when they offer to help.

My brother is driving me to the register office as has a really nice car so that has saved on the cost of hiring cars and he is also giving me away as my dad is no longer with us, he will be missed on the day but I’m sure he’ll be there in spirit!

So wedding plans done what was next on the agenda – oh yeah – Wembley to see Robbie Williams in concert – he was amazing as always, what a fantastic stage and he performed brilliantly. I have seen Robbie lots of times and he never disappoints.  I’ve seen him in Manchester, Villa Park & Milan previous to this concert.  We tried to get tickets for last weekend but were unsuccessful until he added an extra date & we are so glad he did as we managed to get tickets! Mine was an Christmas present from Adam so I knew we were going for months so it was a long wait but well worth it.

Wembley stadium is very impressive and the concert was so well organised I was impressed and will definitely go there to a concert again as I’m not much of a football fanatic. With easy rail connection from the midlands we went there and back without the need to stay over but plenty of hotels nearby so maybe next time we might stay over.

On some cruise lines they actually have tribute artists who perform on board – I remember going on the P&O Ventura a few years ago, there was a Robbie Williams tribute artist on and he was actually very good, he performed for about an hour and a half and had all the moves, sounded a bit like him but still he was entertaining.  A lot of cruise lines do this now and some of the acts are great but believe me I’ve seen a few not so good ones.

Have you had any good or bad experiences of tribute artists on board your cruises?  I’d love to hear about it.

Well what can we say about this weather this last week – perfect (if you’re not working like I have been) but not today – I’m off out to the park to walk my dog and have lunch then back to watch the ‘Mens Singles Final’ at Wimbledon – let’s hope Andy Murray can win it this time for the Uk!!

This is what we want to see at the end of the game – I’m willing him to win it this year!
