Its the Christmas Run Up!

Its the time of year where our diaries get fully booked with Christmas get together’s, seeing friends and generally having fun and enjoying the festivities. This weekend was no exception as my husband and I enjoyed a weekend away with friends to Centre Parcs at Elveden Forest.This is something that started 4 years ago as a birthday celebration and as we all had such a good time it has become an annual event at this time of year. Keeping with tradition we always go to Hucks Diner on the Friday evening for Dinner and Cocktails. This is the American Diner onsite and never disappoints with a great choice of food. As tradition goes we also have a Pool competition with Boys v Girls afterwards which I have to admit we got beat on every game! Not to be outdone by the boys we decided to challenge them to Bowling on Saturday but again we were beaten.

At this time of year the village is decorated for Christmas and everyone you see around have their Christmas Jumpers on so of course we are no exception.

A lot of the staff are also dressed for the season too which is great. There are carriages that are pulled by horses that you can take a ride all around the Village and these are rode by Elves! (Not real ones of course) This is a great value weekend away as lots of things are included in the price including the Sub-Tropical Swimming Paradise, Childrens Play Area, Cycle Paths and there’s even a Beach for the Summer months.  There are lots of other activities available too at a charge including Sports, Inside and Outdoor, and a Spa if you want to treat yourself. We all tend to use it as a lazy relaxing weekend to chill and play silly games!

This weekend I will also be away as it is the Cruise.co.uk Christmas Conference on board Fred Olsen Boudicca. This is something I always look forward to as it gives all us Homeworkers a chance to meet up with each other and as we are spread all over the country its not something that happens very often. I will be able to tell you all about that  next time. Of course there are some things I may not be able to share with you as the picture below says!
