Swapped cruising for Chatting with Alan……

I abandoned my desk on Tuesday so if you were trying to get hold of me then I’m sorry but I was hob-nobbling with the big wigs and celebrities in London I’m afraid. I took a day off selling cruises as I was given the opportunity to go down to London to the ITV television studios to watch the filming of Alan Carrs Chatty Man show.

Friends and I had been offered tickets to sit in the audience for the filming which is being aired tonight at 10pm. We had priority tickets which meant that it was guaranteed entrance as sometimes people go, que for hours and don’t even get in. After arriving we  qued a little while but then they started letting us all in.

I have never done anything like this before so I was so excited to see it all in real life and when we finally go to our seat I couldn’t believe how little the stage and whole area was. Obviously on the television it all looks so different, but the set was tiny and looked a little bit cheap if I’m honest , like something you could set up in your dining room if you had half an hour spare.

The guests on the show were Matthew Perry (Chandler from Friends), the cast from Raised by Wolves Comedy show and the brilliant silver fox that is Phillip Schofield.

I have to say that Alan (that’s right were on first name basis now!!) was so lovely and friendly and just what you expect him to be like. He still chatted to the audience when the cameras stopped rolling and was constantly fooling about and making everyone laugh. He really is a very clever and naturally funny man.

It’s so strange to see the show being filmed because it is not done in the conventional way of start, middle and end, they film it all over the shop. It started off with the Matthew Perry interview then he did the opening monologue then it skipped to him doing the introduction that is shown in the adverts so it’s all a bit strange.

I would say that the Phillip Schofield interview was by far the best part of the show. For people who have watched Chatty Man before then you may know that Phil and Alan have a bit of history when it comes to downing shots of Tequila and yesterday was no exception. After some gentle persuasion from the crowd they were doing shots together and from there it got a bit messy. Alan got slightly tipsy and there was lots of bloopers and retakes that had the audience in stitches.

All in all the day and experience was great and if you have never done anything like that before I would definitely recommend it as the tickets are free and seeing and being apart of it all is great fun.

Back to the real world now though and back to selling dream holidays to you lovely lot , look out for me on the box tomorrow you never know you may see a two second glimpse of me in the audience laughing my socks off.

(By the way the reason for no pics of us in the studio is because its banned , as one unfortunate girl found out after she was asked to leave the studio after getting her phone out !!)
