What does a Great cruise Start with?

I saw this on this board outside the bar on Adventure of the Seas last year and it made me laugh.

Then I got to thinking what does make a great cruise?

It’s not going to be the same thing for everyone.

Perhaps it is the Alcohol? If so do you look for drinks packages when you book?

Perhaps it’s the Food? Do you like Waiter service, or buffet dining?

Do you prefer the speciality restaurants?  Which ships do you find best for this?

It may be the scenery in which case you may prefer places like Alaska, Norway, Iceland, The Eastern Mediterranean etc.

You may like Smaller ships where the emphasis is on good food and good company rather than all singing all dancing facilities, in which case the likes of Oceania, Azamara, Seabourne or Regent Seven Seas etc may well be what you are looking for.
