Britannia is Coming…

I can’t wait to step on-board the new Britannia this weekend. I really do love my job when I get to go and sample these magnificent ships first hand.

Not only do I get to enjoy myself it also means that you as my customers will get the first-hand knowledge of the ships that you would expect from a cruising Expert.

It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it!

Stay on-board, experience the entertainment, sample the exquisite cuisine etc… need I go on.

I’ve got my tickets and I am all ready to go!

Britannia 001

P&O have already officially taken ownership of the Britannia at a ceremony in Trieste, Italy from the owners of the Fincantieri shipyard where it was built. It was a traditional ceremony and included the exchange of flags, in which the shipyard flag is taken down and the P&O Cruises flag is flown.

I love the new Livery, although some have said they don’t. I think the Red, White and Blue is very patriotic and very striking.

P&O are really pulling out the big guns with Food Heroes,  Atul Kochar, Marco Pierre White, Olly Smith, Eric Lanlard and James Martin showcasing their skills on-board and none other than Mary Berry as one of a famous line up of chefs and bakers who will be hosting cookery lessons on-board during the sailings as well as hosting chef’s table exclusive dinners.

The ship itself will be arriving into Southampton on Friday following this route.

I am only sorry I will not be there for the official naming ceremony on Tuesday by her Majesty the Queen before her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean on Saturday March 14th.
