You Can Bring Your Tea Bags, But What Can’t You Take?

Your due to depart on your long awaited cruise, lucky you! So much to pack, what clothes to take? Must not forget to pack your shower gel etc and do not forget you can take your own tea bags on board so better pack them.  What about what you can not take on board? Surely nothing, as your going on a cruise? Think again and be warned there are a number of items you can not take and some of them will surprise you!

So, let me start with the pretty obvious ones.  Please do not attempt to take any firearms, ammunition which do include realistic replicas – might sound silly of me to mention this but you would be surprised to know that some people do try!  Do not take any sharp objects on board such as knives and scissors, although scissors for personal grooming are allowed, as well as razors.  Also goes without saying that you are not allowed to take baseball bats, hockey and cricket bats and any bows and arrows along with any self defence gear including handcuffs and pepper spray. Then we come to the more dangerous items which include any dangerous chemicals, illegal drugs and substances.

Now for the ones which you may have thought you can take but with some cruise lines you can’t!  The first one is in the news at the moment and that is your mobile phone.   Have you got a Samsung Galaxy Note 7? If you have please do not bring this on board! There have been a lot of reports of the phone exploding, something to do with the battery.

Ladies please do not take any toys which may get you into trouble.  Do not take any candles on board, even though you may want to enhance your “romantic” evening – this is a fire hazard.  Same goes for travel irons! – Yep you heard it travel irons with some cruise lines are not allowed on board. Now for the shock item which I and I am sure many ladies will be lost without – your hair straighteners!!! MSC cruises will not allow any of these on board. If they find them they will confiscate them – the thought of not having any on my cruise fills me with dread!

I bet you are surprised and perhaps a little amused at my “tally” of not what to take on board?  Better to be safe then sorry I say! It would be awful to be caught out when checking in, with whatever you take!
