Who Would Win Your Vote?

They are an awful lot of “gongs” handed out every year from the travel industry down to social media on who is the BEST in the cruise world.   The latest awards have recently named some luxury, best value for money, best for a family and finally best cruise line in the Mediterranean.  Will you agree with the following!

Lets start with the value for money then. I think this is a bit of a minefield actually as one persons value for money may not be another’s. Also, how can you define actual “value for money?”  Well, lets go with them and give you the winners!    First off the block is Celebrity Cruises, then we have Royal Caribbean, finally NCL.

Then we have the best for a family the winners are Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival.  Now we move onto the best in the Mediterranean, winners are Celebrity, Regent and Oceania.  Finally we have the luxury winners and they are Crystal, Regent and Oceania.

Would you agree with any of them? Have to say (and I know I am sticking my neck out here) I don’t.  I will leave the value for money aside for once and concentrate on the others. Best for a family in my opinion would be Royal Caribbean and NCL to be honest with you as I think they offer fantastic facilities. Disney, I agree are fab but they are very expensive and perhaps not all our families can afford them. Carnival are smashing for families but moving forward there is nothing in Europe which is a shame, therefore I could not vote for them for that reason.  I sound like Len Goodman from Strictly here!

Best in the Med? I wonder what criteria on this one qualifies for a winner. There are many cruise lines in the Med and whilst I agree the winners are a good bunch, I would not discount MSC who I think offer some fab cruises and good itineraries.

Now for luxury!  I have been very lucky to have been on alot of the luxury ships and for me I would not put Crystal at the top, sorry Crystal.  I think there are others who are better. I totally agree with Regent and Oceania but what about Seabourn, Silversea and not forgetting Sea Dream? I guess it is all down to the individual and what they again perceive as luxury?

I would love to hear who you would vote for. Do you agree with these winners?
