Important Dates Unveiled! Six More Ships To Launch Princess’ Ocean Medallion

Princess Cruises has just announced the activation of Ocean Medallion on six more of its ships in 2020!

Overall, 11 Princess Cruises ships will be Ocean Medallion-activated by the end of 2020.

The following dates reveal when this happens for each vessel:

-Ruby Princess on January 27th

-Grand Princess on March 29th

-Enchanted Princess on June 15th (the ship’s launch date)

-Emerald Princess on August 16th

-Coral Princess on October 16th

-Island Princess on December 20th

The multi-award winning Medallion is currently available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess.

It will be introduced on Crown Princess on July 24th 2019, making it the first ship with UK departures to have the benefit of Ocean Medallion, as Crown Princess is currently sailing a season around the British Isles.

Meanwhile the line’s next ship, Sky Princess, will launch with the technology when it enters service on October 20th 2019 before its short season sailing the Mediterranean.

Enchanted Princess will be named in Southampton and enter service with the enhanced guest experience from the get-go.

It will then sail a season in the Mediterranean before heading to the Caribbean.

Tony Roberts, Princess Cruises’ vice president UK and Europe, said: “The Ocean Medallion has proved a groundbreaking piece of travel technology and the feedback from our guests, in terms of how it has helped enhance and improve their cruise holiday, has been overwhelmingly positive.

It’s great news, both for our guests and crew, that we will be offering the Medallion on even more ships throughout next year.”

Ocean Medallion replaces the more traditional cruise cards in the form of a device the same size as a 10p piece.

Its intention is to make every guest feel like a VIP with smoother and easier embarkation and disembarkation, not forgetting that it also opens guests’ doors when they approach.

This is ideal for anyone who already has their hands full or is with small children.

The Medallion’s ‘compass’ feature means guests can stay connected with friends and family onboard, as well as navigate their way around the ship.

Another element is its ability to order drinks and snacks to every guests’ whereabouts, plus holiday essentials such as suntan lotion and swimming goggles.

Roberts continued: “I’ve been fortunate enough to experience the Medallion first-hand and the simple, seamless service it provides means I’d thoroughly recommend it, whether people are already familiar with our ships or looking to dip their toe in the water for the first time.”
