Want free internet at sea??????

Does this package come with free WIFI on-board?

This is definitely one of the most popular questions I get asked now when I book a cruise, how times have changed, it used to be dress codes, ‘Do I need to take a dinner jacket?’ Not anymore!

Nowadays cruise lines don’t tend to care that much what you wear, it’s all about who is more competitive on gratuities? Who’s got the cheapest drinks package? And how much will it cost me to Facetime, What’s app, and Message on board. Cruising has certainly had to move with the times.

Here at Cruises.co.uk we like to help you out, one of our regular bloggers has put together some handy tips to ensure you do not get ripped off while sailing the high seas.

It never ceases to amaze me how many of my passengers are really switched on when it comes to technology. I tend to approach my passengers over 80 sensitively when I ask if it’s OK to E-mail through your confirmation, to which 9 times out of 10 they reply, ‘Yes E-mail it through, I’ve got my ipad here, I’ll get cracking with my on-line check in straight away.’ So more than likely most of you out there will be taking your appliances away with you.

To save money when using your mobile phones, laptops & ipads at sea we’ve got some great tips for you from finding the hot spots on the ship where Wifi may be free, heading to Cafes and Bars when you get off the ship to make the most of free internet, and linking your appliances so you share your Wifi allowance.

It’s really good to ensure you join the loyalty scheme’s too with cruise lines and keep all your cards or numbers and points in one place for when booking, these can sometimes entitle you to great internet packages on board. one of my regular Cunard cruisers could not live without her Gold membership giving her great internet access on-board to keep in touch with the Grand Children. Another single passenger loves to play chess daily on-line and would not miss a match………..
