Putting On The Ritz

Have you ever stayed in a Ritz Carlton hotel or “popped” in for a drink?  If so, you will I am sure have been wowed by the service, luxurious surroundings etc.  If this is the kind of service and luxury that you love, you will be interested in the news that Ritz Carlton have unveiled it’s first 298 guest, mega yacht which will debut in February 2020.

A spokesman for Ritz Carlton has described this new venture as “wanting to build something true to the Ritz Carlton brand.” They say the quality of what they put in the water will be as good as you can get anywhere.  What we do know is that the sailings will range from seven to ten nights. The first season will be in the Caribbean and then she will move to the Mediterranean in April 2020 and then Northern Europe from July, with stops in Greenwich and Edinburgh which will be interesting if anyone is around to see her.

There will be six suite categories which will all come with a balcony and of course (as you would expect) 24 hour in suite dining.  Ritz Carlton are claiming that the yacht will have the highest percentage of larger suites (106) as the interconnecting suites will join together plus more space per passenger then other ships and a crew to guest ratio of one to 1.21.

There will be five dining venues, the usual spa and fitness centre,  spacious areas to lounge about in, hot tubs and an infinity pool at the back. No casino or any type of show lounges as Ritz say their guests are not interested in this. So instead of the all singing all dancing shows, there will be, and I quote. “performances and small groups, perhaps local culinary celebrities or authors on board”.

This yacht certainly sounds fantastic in terms of the luxury which Ritz Carlton are renowned for.  Will the Ritz Carlton clients go for this? Time will tell although Ritz Carlton say the interest is massive with 30% of bookings already made by existing members.

Will this appeal to you though?

Till next time x
