On Board Bookings & Future Cruise Deposits – Good Value or Marketing Ploy?

We’ve all experienced it – arrived on board our cruise, and been met with a barrage of sales staff offering you the chance to take advantage of the on board promotions and incentives.  Whether that be discounts at the Spa, the shops, etc.  And if you’re like most passengers, you will beat a hasty retreat to the Buffet or Bar, ignoring the opportunity to plough through  brochures and promises of ‘not to be missed incentives’!

Who wants to waste precious pool/bar/buffet time when you only have a week on board?   Understandable – but think again – you know and they know that you’re going to book another cruise in the future.  You’ve chosen this particular cruise line for a reason, you’ve probably sailed with them before, and like the ship, so there’s a good chance you’ll book again. It’s their job to ensure they offer you a good deal to incentivise you to book your cruise with them and not the competition.

You could be missing out on some great offers!  It could be extra on board credit, reduced deposits or a discount off of your next cruise if booked on your current sailing. Not only that, but when you transfer your booking to me, I will give you extra benefits! like for instance, Car Parking,  or further discount, or  extra on board spend, or a nice bottle of wine to welcome you on board! or Airport Lounge, or Free WIFI!

Its a WIN-WIN for you passengers!

Also, if you do get ‘buyers remorse’ many of the cruise lines let you change your mind and choose a different cruise date or ship, or even cancel with no penalty charges! …. within a time period of course.

I make sure, when I make my Bon Voyage calls to all of my clients , I tell them to always check out the on board offers, so make sure you do too!

Here’s some examples:

Royal Caribbean:  Up to $500 on board spend + 50% discount for 2nd guest & Combinable with Crown & Anchor SM exclusive savings

Azamara Cruises:  Up to £500 on board credit  + reduced deposit, usually more than 50% less!

Princess Cruises:   Low deposit  + up to $150 on board spend per passenger. Book specific cruise or opt for open reservation which is valid for 2 years.  Deposit is refundable

**Please check at the time of booking with your cruise line as offers and incentives do vary**

My advice? – Take an hour out of your time to go check out the on board offers, and if you take them up on one of them DONT FORGET to nominate me at cruisedot to ensure you get your additional perks!

Happy Sailing!
