Disney - Introduction

Disney brings their signature magical touch to the world of cruising with nostalgic 1920s-inspired ships, extra roomy staterooms and charming entertainment for kids of all ages. Both family-friendly and luxurious, a Disney cruise offers many of the same perks you’d expect from the brand’s theme parks, including character experiences and showstopping musical productions.

Popular Routes

Sail around the world from the sun-soaked Caribbean to the fairy-tale landscapes of Europe on a Disney Cruise. The most popular itineraries are in the Bahamas, giving you the chance to relax on exotic beaches and soak in the abundant sunshine around the multitude of pools and splash zones. The Disney Dream sails through the Bahamas throughout the year, while the Disney Fantasy covers the Caribbean. You can also opt to cruise around Europe or Alaska for something a bit different!

Dining Options

A ‘Rotational Dining’ concept allows you to rotate between three main restaurants each evening, with your own server moving right along with you! Main dining themes include the Animator’s Palate, showcasing California-fresh fare against the backdrop of a Disney character show. The Enchanted Garden is inspired by the lush gardens of Versailles, while Lumiere’s offers a French bistro meu. Tiana’s Place is worthy of a New Orleans princess with its jazz music and down-home Cajun cooking, while Royal Court puts you in the heart of a traditional fairy-tale setting.

  • Fine Dining for Adults

Make it a date night at one of the onboard adult-exclusive restaurants, offering gourmet cuisine and an elegant atmosphere. Palo serves upmarket Italian specialties from seared sea scallops to butternut pasta all with a panoramic ocean view. Remy offers a world-class dining experience thanks to the expertise of 3-star Michelin chef Arnaud Lallement. Indulge in multiple tasting courses sourced from the world market.

  • Casual Favourites

Apart from the main dining rooms, you can also choose from a full range of casual eateries for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack. If you love a good buffet, take the family to Cabanas to pick and choose from fresh favourites throughout the day. Flo’s Café is inspired by Pixar’s Cars, with a cute theme and kid-friendly options like burgers, pizza and sandwiches. Leave room for the sweet stuff at Eye Scream or Frozone Treats, dishing up ice cream with all the toppings!

Drinks Packages

It’s easy to work up a serious thirst at sea, so stay hydrated with the array of onboard beverages. Soft drinks are included with meals and are free of charge at designated Beverage Stations and the teens-only lounge. However, additional charges to apply for beer, wine, bottled water, and drinks at the bars. While daily drinks packages are unavailable, you can pre-order bottles of water, beer, wine or champagne through the cruise line’s gifting service.

Entertainment

Fireworks, extravagant deck parties and open-air movies: there’s truly never a dull moment aboard a Disney cruise, with Magic Kingdom moments around every corner. This includes the Disney Characters themselves, who are on hand throughout the itinerary for meet and greets. You might bump into Cinderella, Captain Hook, or the head mouse himself as you stroll around the ship! Little ones will love special character events like the Royal Court Royal Tea with the Disney Princesses, or the Character Breakfast with all the friends on hand for hugs and autographs.

  • Live Productions

You can expect a Broadway-level musical experience every night of the week, with productions chosen from the full roster of Disney films. Laugh along with the Genie in the Aladdin Musical, or root for Rapunzel in Tangled: The Musical. Star Wars fans of all ages will love the Star Wars Day at Sea experience, a full-day celebration on some sailings that includes a deck party for all the Jedi knights on board. And it wouldn’t be a high sea adventure without a few pirates involved, so don’t miss the Pirate Night with all its swashbuckling good fun!

Amenities and Activities

A cruise with Disney brings all the trappings of a tropical resort, with plenty of family-friendly pools, play areas and waterslides. The Aqualab boasts an 1,800 square foot play area with geysers, pipes and pop jets to splash around in, while Donald’s Pool includes a sleek outdoor swimming area and two whirlpool spas. There’s also Mickey’s Pool for the littlest sailors to paddle in, and the Aquaduck water coaster when you’re ready to spice things up with a thrilling 4-deck drop. And for adults, there’s the Quiet Cove pool for peaceful laps and soaking.

  • Fitness and Fun

Get away from it all and relax in the sauna or enjoy an indulgent massage and aromatherapy treatment in the spa. The ocean view gym is a standard feature on all Disney ships, with personal trainers, specialty classes and high-tech fitness equipment to keep you feeling your best. For family-oriented sports, head to Goofy’s Sports Deck to enjoy a round of basketball or golf. Don’t forget to play a round of shuffleboard while you’re at sea!

  • Kids Clubs

Naturally, there is a full calendar of excitement on offer for kids. This includes the Oceaneer Club and Lab, designed for kids aged 3-12 years of age. In the club, they’ll play games, enjoy storytelling in Pixie Hollow, and take part in interactive missions with the Avengers. Teens can chill out in high-tech hangouts loaded with computers and video games, and enjoy daily guided activities to keep them stimulated with newfound friends. For the littlest guests between 6 months and 3 years of age, there’s a dedicated small world play area and quiet room for napping.

Service Charges

Gratuities are not included with the price of a Disney cruise, but you can add the suggested daily amount to your onboard account at the end of your cruise or choose to prepay. A 15% service charge is automatically added to bar and deck service tabs, and an 18% gratuity is added to spa services.

Dress Code

Disney keeps it casual for the most part, with a cruise casual dress code in force permitting shorts, jeans and T-shirts in most onboard dining locations. Swimwear and tank tops aren’t allowed in the restaurants, however. The exception to the casual dress code is within the adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo and Remy. In line with their sophisticated ambience, men are asked to wear dress slacks and a collared shirt, while women can wear a more elegant dress. There are also a number of optional theme nights depending on the itinerary, including dress-up nights and pirate parties.
