When is a cruise not a cruise?

The answer, in this case, is when it’s on a ferry!!
Don’t worry I have not gone mad or lost the plot.
Everyone who reads what I write will notice I quite often talk about my home city of Liverpool, there is a reason for this. Apart from the fact it is an amazing city to visit it has some special little “cruises” throughout the year.
Mersey ferries have been going as far back as people can remember, we used to use them a lot when we were kids, nipping over the water to a beach in New Brighton was like going on holiday. Our parents used to pack us some sandwiches and a bottle of green lemonade ( cream soda). It was a big adventure to go to the local beach for a paddle.
Nowadays it has changed a bit and possibly for the better as there are lots of trips “cruises” on the ferries that are just a bit different and make for a good day out, especially for families.
How about a cruise along Britains grandest canal for a starter, sail from Liverpool along the Manchester ship canal to Salford and be amazed at the swing bridges and scenery, is a great day trip and at the end, you will be brought back by coach.
It is a journey through time as you will see things that were built over 100 years ago, some amazing feats of engineering for the day.
Journeys last around 6 hours and cost around £44, trip advisor rate this as a 5 out of 5 experience.

So come along and ferry cross the Mersey, Gerry Marsden’s iconic song is played onboard the ferries and everyone hs a good old singalong.

A fact now that not everyone will know or even think possible and that is this
There’s been a Ferry across the
Mersey for more than 800 years
providing a link between Liverpool
and the Wirral shorelines. That is a long time.
