Cheers P&O and Cunard…

P&O have finally announced they have introduced a drinks package that is available on any sailings of 5 nights or more.

You can buy packages at any bar on board until midnight on night two of your cruise and you can use your package in all the restaurants, bars and cafés on board.

Packages are not available to purchase pre-cruise. Each adult assigned to the same cabin must purchase the same drinks package. Sharing is not permitted.

Children can have the Children’s package independently of their parents. There is no requirement for adults in the same cabin to also purchase a package.

Any loyalty discount will be applied when purchasing a drinks package.

The Ultimate Drinks Package – £39.95 per person per day
The Non-alcoholic drinks Package – £19.95 per person per day
The Hot Drinks Package – £10.95 per person per day
The Children’s Drink Package – £7.95 per person per day

Cunard have also followed suit which I have to admit has come as a surprise. I never thought Cunard would go down this route. Think it will be interesting to see how this will work and what Cunard past passengers feel about it. Wonder if they will follow P&O in the gratuities area and scrap gratuities?

The options that Cunard are offering are as follows:

Option 1 – Beers, Wines and spirit package – $69 per guest per day, this will include a large selection of drinks to include cocktails and liqueurs, up to $11 per serving and a discount of 20% off drinks over $11. Guests choosing this package will also get all the benefits of the Premium Soft Drinks Package.

Option 2 – Premium Soft Drinks Package – $29 per guest per day, this will include soft drinks, small bottled waters, freshly squeezed juices, non-alcoholic cocktails and specialty hot drinks, and a 20% discount on any soft drinks not included in the package.

Option 3 – Soft Drinks Package – $10 per guest per day, this will include draught soft drinks, selected fruit juices, squash and cordials.

Option 4 – Speciality Hot Drinks – $15 per guest per day, this includes unlimited speciality coffee’s, tea and hot chocolate.

All the drinks packages are inclusive of gratuities normally paid on drinks on board.
