WOKEN BY YOUR PARTNER’S HEAVY SNORING? PERHAPS I HAVE A SOLUTION FOR YOU!!!

In the more than 39 years that I have been in the travel industry, the last 21 years of which I have been actively selling and enthusing about cruise holidays having experienced a great many myself firsthand, I’ve never ceased to be amazed at some of the unusual enquiries that I have received over this long period of time.

One such unusual enquiry I had all those years ago. A lady called me and asked me if she could get a quote for herself and her husband. “I’d like a four berth share on P & O Cruises’ Canberra in a cabin on one of the higher decks with a balcony.” My husband he can have a four berth share in an inside cabin on one of the lower decks.

I thought this was a very strange enquiry and immediately questioned the lady to be sure I had actually heard her correctly. She said I had. Then she explained why the unusual enquiry. “My husband snores terribly and I rarely get a good night’s sleep at home. So, when we take cruise holidays it is my one opportunity to get a decent night’s sleep so, I share with three other women, and he shares with three other men”.

I’ve always remembered this story because it’s one of the ones that show that there is no typical cruise passenger. If you are looking to cruise and you really are not sure that your questions are sensible, don’t be at all concerned.

As the saying goes…   the only stupid question is the one that you don’t ask. It may be on the tip of your tongue, but you just can’t ask it or, you won’t ask for fear of sounding silly.
