BIONIC BAR… LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

What is it?

It’s exactly what the name suggests, an amazing bar that is run by bionic mixologists. The minds behind the Bionic Bar are the technological creatives at Makr Shakr, who have created a device that provides you with a brand-new drinking experience that is like no other.

As well as being technically innovative, it’s also easy to navigate; all you have to do is submit your drink order, sit back and watch as the bionic bartenders get to work, shaking, stirring and straining two drinks in just one-minute! There’s even a resident DJ, who plays upbeat and contemporary music, so you’ll be able to enjoy a dance with your family and friends, too.

How does it work?

The first decision you’ll have to make is whether to enjoy a classic cocktail or create your own drink; to do this you must enter it onto the e-menus, on the tablets available. So, if you want to create your own delicious drink, you’ll have to pick your spirits, mixers, and extras of choice. And, with flavoured vodka, sprigs of mint and even melon-flavoured liqueur on hand, you’re bound to find everything you want from the 30 different drinks on Bionic Bar’s extensive menu.

Once you’ve picked which flavours and spirits are going to feature in your delicious creation, all you have to do is pick the order in which everything will be mixed together, according to the four actions: muddle, stir, shake and strain. Once you’re happy, all that’s left to do is name your drink, submit your order and watch your creation come to life!

Alternatively, if you just fancy sipping on one of the classics on offer, then simply select your preferred drink from the e-menu and watch as the bionic bartenders get to work.

What kind of drinks does the Bionic Bar create? 

That’s the great thing about the Bionic Bar – you can pick and choose whichever drink you like, and even create your own! So, if you fancy something zesty and refreshing, then mix up your experience by crafting a mixture of citrusy fruit juice, flavoured spirits and some ice, or simply cut out the spirits for a delicious alcohol-free treat. Don’t worry though, if you have a fancy for a mojito the Bionic Bar does great-tasting classic cocktails too, all you have to do is select the option on the bar’s tablet and watch as your drink is muddled, shaken and strained by the high-tech bartenders.

Okay…    so that’s the theory but what’s it really like?

From people that I have spoken to who have cruised on Anthem Of The Seas, the new Bionic Bar is a “must” visit but would they go back…   Now that’s the question. The response seems to have been very mixed. A bit of a gimmick maybe!!!
