Are Princess cruises becoming more British??

The Crown Princess sails out of Southampton from April to September 2017, with mainly British guests so they have taken the decision to offer some ‘British dishes’ after asking their guests what are there favorite home cooked British dishes.

The new foods will include a weekly curry night with a selection or authentic dishes, fish and chips available every lunch time (mmm my favorite!), a traditional roast on a Sunday, a pub lunch on sea days, serving favorites such as hot pot, cottage pie, Cornish pasties, and a good old English breakfast with sausages, back bacon and black pudding.

They will also carry on with an afternoon tea with scones, jam and cake on sea days, British tea brands in the restaurant 24/7 or by room service plus very Britsh condiments such as HP sauce, Branston pickle and Marmite. All will come at no extra charge to the guests and will sit alongside Princess’ current international menu.

British ales, beers and smoothies which will be available to purchase. Additionally food and drink with be served to mark special events such as Wimbledon where they will be offering Champagne, Pimms and strawberries.

I think this is a great idea from Princess and would certainly keep a lot of customers happy but again on the other hand some people like to go on holiday to get away from the ‘Britishness’ and sample new dishes, at least now this will keep a lot of guests happy having all options!

What’s your thoughts are do you like traditional English food whilst your away??
