A Quantum Class Ship in Southampton?

So, a little birdie tells me that RCI are going to be making a big announcement on 21st November to the UK market.  We know that they’re launching two new ships – Anthem of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas.

I’m rather excited and hoping they’re going to bring one of the new Quantum class ships over.  It would fit in with what one of my passengers told me yesterday.  He had been on the Independence last week and during the course of the cruise, they were told that next year would be Indys last year sailing out of Southampton!

So are they going to bring another of their ‘big ships’ in to replace her?

The Quantum class ships do look amazing!  At the moment there are only artists impressions but they give a good insight into what RCI have planned.

At almost 168,000 Gross Tonnes and 1141 feet in length, this class of ship is slightly smaller than the Oasis class but a bit bigger than Independence.  Perfect for families with endless activities and entertainment to keep the whole family amused, I think this new class of ship will be a hit with everyone.

I’m placing my bets on one of these new Quantum class ships being based in Southampton around 2015.  What are your thoughts?  Would you like to see one of these ships sailing from the UK or do you prefer smaller ships?
