MSC New Private Island

MSC have released new details about the new private island in the Bahamas due to operate from November. It’s called Ocean Cay and it’s just 20 miles from the coast of The Bahamas and not far off Miami, about 65 miles away. The Island will have eight beaches and each one will serve it’s purpose as one will be reserved for Yacht Club passengers, one for Aurea Spa passengers, one for crew use etc. There will be facilities such as sun decks and private cabana’s to rent. There will be some water sports, snorkelling and scuba diving. The proximity to Miami will mean that on every Caribbean sailing there will be a stop to Ocean Cay. The ship can stay there until 1am and still be in Miami by 6am that morning. Passengers will be abale to rent a near by private island,The experience includes a private boat to transport guests that will remain at their disposal; sun beds and loungers; food and drinks; and a marquee. There will be seven bars on the island with different themes, plus 4 shopping areas selling MSC-branded souvenirs and people can use their MSC cards for payment. The small size of this island means that passengers would be 20 minutes walk away from the ship at the most distant part of the island. Guests will be able to watch movies under the stars with their feet in the sand. There will be food carts on the island in case you don’t want to go back to the ship to dine while staying on the island and there will be a buffett near the small family lagoon.  Four MSC ships will visit the island during its inaugural season, docking at a pier alongside the island. MSC are also planning to open a simialr island in the Mediterranean but that I think will be in the distant future as it’s not as simple….
