Thomson ships new exotic destinations

Is the Thomson dream really a Platinum ship? Compared to other cruise ships, does the Dream really live up to a Platinum status?

The Thomson Dream will be the only UK ship to home port in Jamaica for next winter 2014/15 voyages.  The ship now in their platinum range will also visit new ports of calls such as Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and Honduras.  they will also be using their 787 Dreamliner so a Thomson package, Dreamliner and Platinum cruise can’t be a bad way to travel on a package holiday. The Dreamliner has over come it’s early faults and reviews recently, people have been very impressed with the best charter flight available. This being a good option for those who want to have direct flights and some from regional airports to see exotic destiantions whilst they cruise.

As for the Thomson Dream ship itself being a platinum ship. I’m not so convinced it deserves to be platinum yet. That said overall, a package holiday with Thomson on this Dreamliner flight and new exotic destiantions for winter warmers is probably better than doing a landbase holiday with them. If the ship can be refurbed and maybe a few more balconies put in as an option for customers, then maybe it will deserve it’s platinum status.

Thomson hotels tick certain boxes to be in their premier collection and platinum hotels. These being hotels, however I still don’t think the Dream deserves to be Platinum. Thomson have always focused on Service, Food and Entertainment to give their hotels a good rating and a place in their Platinum selection but I’d have to ask is just 3 Ticks in a box enough to say a ship is worthy of  a platinum status? It’s a nice ship, with very good service, food and entertainment but in comparison to other ocean liners who probably do a lot more, I wouldn’t give it platinum status.
