P&O Are In Competition With The Other Cruise Lines…..

All the cruise lines are now in competition with each other for having the largest ships at sea.  Now P&O are joining the party!

P&O Cruises have confirmed a second ship is now on order and is due to be delivered to the fleet in 2022.

This brings their total number of megaships to be launched to two.  The new 5,200 passenger ship is still to be named along with its sister ship which is due to arrive in 2020.  Both of these vessels will be the largest ships ever built for the British Market.

These two new ships will have a range of innovative new features and onboard experiences.  The interiors will be stylish, there will be the latest dining trends and new groundbreaking entertainment options.

At the moment until the new ship launches in 2020 the 3647 passenger ship Britannia holds the title of the largest ship in the fleet.

P&O Cruises have an incredible loyal following of passengers who sail with them time and time again.  I have a few regulars who I book up to 4 cruises a year with P&O and who will not look at other cruiselines.

The question I would like to ask you is “how do you feel about two new megaships entering the P&O fleet?”

Are you a passenger that prefers the smaller more intimate vessels or are you a passenger who enjoy the larger vessel with more facilities?

My personal opinion is I am happy with either.  For me it is dependent on the itinerary.  If it is only one of the smaller ships sailing on a certain itinerary I would happily go on that particular ship.

I have experienced two megaships with different cruiselines; The Epic with Norwegian Cruise Lines and Independence Of The Seas with Royal Caribbean.  Of course as we all know Independence Of The Seas has been beaten in size with Harmony and now Symphony.

I would love to hear your thoughts on these two new P&O ships.  Are you excited to go on one of these or are you happy to stick to the more traditional ships in the fleet?

Please post your comments below.

Until next time….Happy Cruising
