2017…How It Has Sailed By!

As I write this blog I cannot believe we are almost at the end of 2017.  In 5 days time it will be time to say ‘Happy New Year’ and reminisce about events of the previous year.

My year has been an exceptionally busy one.  The biggest event was definitely a career change.  I made the move in April from working in a Thomson Holidays shop to working from home with Cruise.co.uk.  As much as I miss my colleagues from Thomson moving to the cruise.co.uk family was the best move I have made.  Here is a picture of me at Thomson and also a picture of my colleagues at cruise.co.uk

This year I have been lucky enough to attend the CLIA River Convention where I learnt so much about the world of River Cruising.  I won a week next year on a River Cruise that I am so looking forward to.

And of course I mustn’t forget the cruise.co.uk conference we all attended at Butlins in Skegness.  I thoroughly enjoyed this as it gave me the opportunity to meet colleagues face to face which as a homeworker you do not often get that chance.

There have of course been some unfortunate events in 2017 including hurricanes destroying beautiful places and Monarch collapsing which affected a lot of people’s holidays.

I am looking forward to 2018 as I feel it will be a fantastic year for the cruise industry.  There are lots of developments happening with all the cruise lines so keep your eyes peeled here and on my Facebook page Shannon’s Sea Views for all the latest news.  Here is the link to my Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/shannonjonescruise/
