Mass Brawl onboard P&O Britannia

P&O have hit the headlines this weekend for all the wrong reasons as the newspapers reported a “Mass Brawl” onboard at 2am after heavy drinking around the pool all day and sighting of a passenger dressed as a clown. This sounded more Benidorm than Britannia. Good Morning Britain reporter Richard Gaisford posted on his twitter feed that there was blood all over the buffet restaurant floor and people injured and yet no evidence of this has yet come to light in a world where everybody has a phone in there pocket to take pictures and videos.

Reading comments a lot of people where blaming All inclusive Drinks packages for drunken onboard behaviour and yet this is what Im being asked for constantly when speaking to customers. Everybody wants a price with Drinks Included, so who is to blame??

Most Cruise lines now have prebookable Drinks you can add but we are not hearing of Mass Brawls on a weekly basis, so can it be drunken passengers to blame?

This brawl apparentley happened at 2am now thats not a late night on some travel agent cruises I have been on, but 2am on a 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise. I really cant see how there would be that many people still partying the night away especially if they had been drinking all day poolside as the newspapers have suggested….

If you have cruised with P&O before in recent years you will know they have never overcharged on drinks but bowed to the pressures and demand to bring out a drinks package so able to compete with other cruise lines. At £39.95pp per day its not the cheapest out there and you would certianly need to drink a lot to get your monies worth.
