The Countdown has commenced!!

Its officially now holiday countdown, in just 10 days time myself and my family will be jetting off on our summer family holiday.

This year we are off to New york for a few days before setting sail onboard Carnival Horizon to the Caribbean.

A couple of years ago we did sail onboard the brand new sister ship Carnival Vista around the med where we stayed in the Havana Cabanas. So this year we will have the same.

The Havana cabanas are a totally unique style of cabin with a terrace balcony with a gate that leads round to the aft Havana pool which has exclusive use for Havana guests.

There are number of different types of havana cabins such as inside, terrace balcony, suites and just havana balcony which are on the deck above. All of them have exclusive use of the Havana Pool and jacuzzis up until 7pm every day. This is pure bliss as no rushing to get sunbeds or crowded pools. Then there is also the outdoor havana pool bar serving drinks throughout the day and night. The terrace balcony is also extra large with a sun longer, hammock swing chair and patio table and chairs.

We will sail out from New York Manhattan terminal right by the statue of liberty, so am very excited about sailaway.

The ship itself besides the Havana rooms has some amazing features and dining, such as a waterpark for the children, arcades, bowling, sports court, a skyride [ an elevated cycle track above the top deck ] a casino, piano bar, comedy club plus lots of bars lounges, theatre and cinema, outdoor movies and indoor Imax.

The dining choice is amazing with the main dining room and buffet, and then also Guys burger joint, Smokehouse BBQ, Asian, Italian, Sushi, Pizzeria, Seafood shack, Taco bar and room service. There is so much choice.

The cruise is 9 days visiting Grand Turk, Domincan republic and San Juan and we have our excursions booked up, a power snorkel in Turks and Caicos and ATV adventure in Dominican Republic. We also then have a helicopter trip booked for New York and plan to do the natural history museum too along with the Empire state building. We have done this before but this will be the first time taking our daughter so will make sure we go up the Empire state Building. Along with shopping of course.

So its T-10 underway, we are all very excited. I will of course share my review on return too along with pictures.

So where ever you are headed off to this summer, I hope you have a wonderful time. 🙂
