Isle of Wight Festival

Isle of Wight here I come

So in just 7 days time I will be venturing out on my first ever music festival to the Isle of Wight.

Having never been to a music festival before I have no idea what to expect, what to take, and how long I will last the event, we could be home in under 24 hours as campers we are not.

I have always loved the idea of camping, being in he great outdoors, sleeping under the stars, camping stove out – sounds really romantic, but in reality it doesn’t quite come off that way.

But if you are going to a festival, is there really any other way to do it? I mean you have to fully immerse yourself in the whole festival experience which includes camping right?

Now we are glamping, but there is only so much luxury one can get from a tent, but our tent has full wooden beds in with mattresses, quilts, pillows, bed throws, towels, bed side tables and lights and electric power for our heater and charger. I think the heater is going to be an essential item looking at the weather!!  If we go away in Britain, might as well do it right and bring the rain too. Lol

We have on site showers – eek and toilets, along with a private bar area for tea/coffee.

We have also booked the Sky VIP lounge which also has luxury toilets and a private bar and garden area. I might just stay in here, they will have to kick me out.

So having checked the pre packing checklist, I was a little surprised at the list of essential items….

Bin bags…

Toilet roll !!!!!!

Wellies – got that one

Rain coat

Warm clothing

And a whole host of other things, my list is endless, thank goodness we don’t have to take sleeping bags, pillows and air beds too. It would be like moving house for sure.

But all that aside, its about the music for sure, and music I am a big fan of, any genre any age, I love all types of music, well almost. But I am most looking forward to seeing Madness, James and George Ezra. Wonderful music, great friends, sat listening to great sounds with a great sunset [ I hope ] and some wine – what more could one want.

So if you don’t hear from me again, you know I have not returned
