Brand New MSC Magnifica coming to Southampton

Royal Caribbean may have deserted us Brits and pulled out Independence of the seas from Southampton, but MSC are sure liking us at the moment as they have announced they are to spend 130 million refurbishing and stretching MSC Magnifica before she will homeport in Southampton for the summer 2021 season.

We will be spoiled since the ship will undergo a fabulous refurb including adding 23 meters to the ship which will include 215 more cabins, a new water park, a new kids zone, two new restaurants and a shopping area.

The summer 2021 season will run from May to October with all sailings out of Southampton set to depart on a weekend to either the Baltic, Canary Islands & Madeira, Northern Europe & The Baltic, and the Mediterranean. There will also be some brand new ports including Skagen in Denmark and Norways largest Fjord – Roendal.

The May bank holiday will include a mini cruise to Bruges for anyone wanting a short break getaway in addition.

Prices will start at just £149 for the minicruise and £549 for a Fjords cruise.

Antonio Paradiso, MD for MSC cruises UK & Ireland said:

“We are delighted to be further enhancing our guest experience and offering brand new itineraries sailing from the UK,”

“We are committed to providing UK guests with the holidays they want, and travel agents with cruises they want to sell.

“This announcement is the result of the on-going feedback we have received from agents and guests who want to sail with MSC Cruises from Southampton to new destinations. Our goal is always to provide more opportunities for the trade and more choice for the guest.”

So more importantly, when can you book, well dont delay, sailings on sale tomorrow 12 Sep 2019.
