Air Canada Signature Class

When it comes to flying we all want as much comfort as possible particularly if flying long haul.

So it is important to choose an airline that really takes care of its passengers and Air Canada has hospitality by the bucket load.

We recently flew with Air Canada to Calgary and flew economy out and Business class [ signature class ] coming back. The Canadian hospitality certainly extends itself in the air too.

I have never been offered so much food and drink onboard a flight, checks to ensure was I comfortable, did I need anything, the crew were willing to assist with anything, and this was in economy, so signature class was even better.

Like any business class you have use of the airport lounges in Calgary with drinks and meals included, televisions, comfortable individual rest areas, showers, wifi, and all very close to the shops in the departures lounge. The check in the airport is great with a dedicated lounge for business class check in, no computers which I hate. On the outbound at Heathrow the computor wanted my Canadian residents permit card so we still ended up queuing, which of course you have to do anyway to bag drop.

The business class onboard is very comparable to Virgins upper class, each with own individual seat that fully reclines into a flat bed with mattress and quilt. Large tv screen with wide range of movies and music, remote control, headphones, amenities pack, great storage space to store books, phone, head phones etc.

The onboard menu is great with so much choice for drinks including champagne, the dinner menu has great choices including pasta, meat and fish, these is all served as a 3 course meal with cheese board. The breakfast menu is optional if you wish to be woken for landing and includes a good selection of pastries, cereals and a hot item.

The window seats have 2-3 windows each and are very spacious. Or you could opt for the middle row for 2 together [ with dividers ] if you want to be sociable with your travelling companion. We opted for the window seats.

This is our 4th time with Air Canada and they always surpass the last, never disappointing, so if you are thinking of airlines for your Canada/Alaska trip and have a choice for your flight, I would definitely recommend Air Canada.
