10 Yrs of quirky Royal Celebrations

Queen Mary 2 is going to celebrate her 10 yrs celebration this year.

I am a fan of this ship and as a contribution i have collected some interesting quirky facts about the Queen Mary in this blog.

She has been turning heads for the 10 past years with her elegance since the early 2004.

She is 1132 feet in length stood on stern which is the same height as empire state building.

3 times the height of St. Paul’s Cathedral.

It took 1 million hours to design, 8 million hours to build and 1 thousand miles of welding which holds the liner together which would stretch from London to Moscow.

She has 800 meters of chain on board , an equivalent of 7 football pitches.

In 10 yrs of service she sailed for an equivalent of 3 times to the Moon and back

Visited 182 ports and carried 1.3 million guests, enough to fill Westminster abbey 651 times.

All the luggage carried side be side would stretch around the olimpic stadium 3750 times

She carried over 2 thousand dogs, 5 times as many as Battersy dogs home

Has served over 58 milion meals, enough to feed the population of  Honk Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and New York for an entire weekend

Has served 25 million Litres of milk, enough to keep the fountain in front of Buckingham Palace flowing for over 6 hours

Has served 21.9 million cups of tea which would fill an Olympic swimming pool over 3 times

If you stack 2.7 million of scones made on board on top of each other they reach 80 miles in height

Guests have enjoyed almost 8 thousand guest lectures, the equivalent of 1 year of radio continuous broadcast
