Gratuities

I speak about Gratuities a lot as you would know from my post. I don’t personally agree with them you have many cruise lines that include them in there cost (which I’m a great believer what you don’t know doesn’t hurt you) and what I mean by this is that cruise lines like NCL and Marella include these in there cost the price you is the price you pay so how do you know what amount is the gratuities?

I have a 3-Year-Old daughter and we travel with Royal Caribbean,  now on a standard 14-night cruise you would be looking at roughly £153.79 per person for the full 14 Nights in gratuities this is a lot on top of your cruise price, I really don’t agree with paying the same gratuities  for my Little girl as I would pay for an adult and I know some people might disagree with this but this is a lot of money to me. Royal Caribbean has now got an offer where you get the Deluxe drinks package free but you also get your gratuities free which I think is amazing. But are cruise lines doing this because they know how much us British people hate having to pay them?

In the last couple of week on social media, MSC was saying that they were making their gratuities compulsory and you didn’t have the option to take them off which had a lot of people not happy about this but we’ve since found out that this won’t happen, if you feel like you don’t have good service and can say at the end of your cruise why you haven’t then MSC will take these off for you. But I still feel that this shouldn’t be the way it is, if you want to tip then you should be allowed to do that yourself and not be told how much you should give.

What are your thoughts on Tipping having Gratuities added to your cruise? let me know what you think?
