Have Princess Cruises got it just right?

Have Princess Cruises got it just right?

I think so, however I suppose it depends what you want to get out of your cruise.

I love Princess, the contemporary feel and relaxing atmosphere make it the perfect holiday for me. There are no quirky surf parks or ice skating rink’s on-board just elegance and comfort to enjoy.

Princess launched the Regal Princess a few weeks ago and should have set sail out of Athens on her 3rd cruise yesterday afternoon.

The Regal Princess is bigger than the other ships (longer than the Shard!) but still keeps the same stylish theme.

Guest capacity 3560, 17 decks, 1346 crew,16 bars and restaurants, luxurious Lotus spa and fitness centre and features a SeaWalk – top deck glass-bottomed walkway which extends over the edge of the ship!

Here are some of my favourite features on-board a Princess cruise…

The Piazza is a 3 deck high atrium and is the heart of the ship! Meet for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon. Dine in one of the restaurants or sit back and enjoy the entertainment. I would be meeting friends for a drink before my evening meal! You have to see it to believe it!

Movies Under the Stars – The Regal princess screen will be 30% larger than the other Princess ships! I love watching a good film snug on my comfy sun-longer with pillow and blanket! You also get free popcorn! It’s great for a relaxing evening! This all takes place on the top deck round the pool area. You can also see the movie from the whirlpool! Popular sporting events are also aired so no chance of you missing the world cup!

Sabatini’s – If you like Italian food, this is a winner! A Tuscan-inspired restaurant that is one of the best Italian restaurants at sea. Not to be missed and for a fee of just $25 a person for dinner! Bargain if you ask me! There is also an impressive selection of Italian wines from the Tuscany region to enjoy.

The Retreat Pool and Bar Looking to get a bit of peace & quiet? Maybe away from the kids? This stylish adults-only pool area offers a peaceful retreat from the main pool, this area is perfect to relax and enjoy the sun and better still the Retreat turns into what Princess is calling the Chill Lounge, a relaxed outdoor space to enjoy the evening with drinks and music! The cabanas located just steps away from the pool come with an extra charge of $50 for a half day.

Sea Walk – New for the Royal and Regal Princess. Best not to look down if you are scared of heights! This glass bottom walkway hovers 128 feet above the ocean! If you have ever wondered what the view is like as the captain on the bridge looks through the glass panels in the floor to get a look at the sea conditions below, well you will have that exact experience and a sense of stepping out from the side of the ship!  The views must be breath-taking!

Have you cruised with Princess before?
