Christmas Markets

Last weekend I went to Stratford upon Avon for my 40th birthday.

I have been on my cruise to celebrate and had a night out with my friends and family so this was a family break away with the kids so they didn’t feel left out.

It’s not too far from where I live and we stayed in the centre of Stratford so we were nice and central.

I love Stratford I have stayed there before it is a beautiful place but not too quiet so there were lots of really nice restaurants and nice bars with plenty of character.

Christmas is my favourite time of year so it was really nice to see all the lights and decorations, the pubs were all decorated and the log fires were burning so it felt very festive.

It was so busy though and it was very cold walking around trying to find somewhere with a table available especially as some pubs and restaurants don’t allow children.

We had lunch and did some shopping and then had a look around the Christmas markets. They were not very impressive to be honest but maybe I have been spoilt by the lovely markets in Europe visited on the short break cruises in December.

We ended the night with a fantastic meal in a local restaurant.

The following day the girls had had enough of shopping so we took them to the butterfly farm. They said they enjoyed it but they didn’t seem to like the fact that the butterflys were flying around them and were definitely not impressed by the snakes and tarantula’s !!

I am now looking forward to our Christmas conference on the Arcadia and will be visiting Bruges stock up my some Belgian chocolates for Christmas.
