Christmas Lights

Last weekend we went to our local Christmas light switch on.

My children were so excited and it didn’t seem to matter that it was daddy’s birthday as long as they got their first glimpse of santa.

It was a lovely evening which started with a Christmas carol concert sang by the local school choir followed by a visit to santa,  whilst listening to a brass band play all of my favourite carols.

When Santa asked my youngest daughter what she would like for Christmas all she could think to ask for was a onesy (all in one pyjamas ) but what was even funnier was the look on her face when he asked if she had been a good girl, she looked very worried as she was obviously remembering the tantrums that she has most mornings getting ready for school !!

This is a picture of my 2 daughters and my nephew with santa.

After visiting santa we had the countdown to the light switch on followed by a fantastic firework display and then a visit to the fair.

All of this washed down with mulled wine, mince pies and a hog roast made a really special evening.

Christmas is my favourite time of year it’s a truly magical time and I love all of the festivities and quality time spent with all of my family.

We then decided to put our decorations up aswell which wasn’t quite as enjoyable !!

We had the usual problems with lights that didn’t work but after 4 trips to B&Q we finally got there in the end and we all helped to decorate the tree and the rest of the house.

I am nearly finished my Christmas shopping so once I have finished that I will be able to sit back and enjoy the rest of December.

I have lots of plans  for December which I am sure I will be writing about later to watch this post ..
