What’s Royal Caribbean App to?

Get your smartphones and androids out as Royal Caribbean have added The Independence of the Seas to their smartphone app. It’s been a few years since I’ve been with Royal Caribbean so i haven’t downloaded this app, but i’m sure those of you due to sail on her may find this a very handy tool. Especially if you enjoy your modern technology. For those of you who have family that have their phone glued to their hand, this is probably your worst nightmare for your holiday.

If you have this app already you will notice that the ship has been added to the list of ships already supported but the app store itself is still to list this update.

Independence is the 7th Royal Caribbean ship to be added to the list of ships that can take advantage of the new smart phone app, following on from the Mariner of the Seas, which was added just recently in August.

This app is still under development with Royal Caribbean as they have new features rolling out on a regular basis. Passengers may notice that not all the ships have the same features as of yet.

Expedited arrival, folio management, deck plans and Cruise Planner are but just a few of the features the new app provides.

I personally would find the Folio section useful as it displays your on board account and you can see your current charges during the cruise. Mobile check is usually a good one as well as the app can scan your passport and take your security photo ready which will speed up the check in process. I’ve tried to do this with a laptop before and it took several attempts where as a mobile is easier to maneuver.

The Royal Caribbean App is available through the iTunes App Store as well as Google Play Store.
