Have you heard of them?

Of course being in the industry for 10 Years i have known about these for a long time and they continue to keep growing and growing, especially with the UK market. With the launch of their latest ship they currently have 14 in the fleet and are due to have a new ship released very year until 2021. They are the only cruise line in partnership with LEGO. And recently voted ‘Best for Families’ ‘Best new Cruise Ship UK’ and ‘Best New Cruise Ship USA’. Have you guessed who i’m talking about yet? that’s right it’s MSC.

I must admit i haven’t sailed with these yet and there’s still several clients i talked to that haven’t, or they haven’t even really heard of them.

Originally they were founded as a Mediterranean Shipping Company then they launched MSC Cruises in 1988. Currently their itineraries include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Caribbean, South Africa, Asia, South America and the Emirates. In 2019 they are set for a Year round program in China.

More recently they had announced that the MSC Magnifica will be receiving a British makeover for her home port of Southampton for 2018. She will have more of a British look and feel. Guests can expect tea and coffee facilities in their cabins, a selection of British and Irish Beers and Ciders, British t.v channels in the cabins, sauces and condiments like HP Sauce, British Newspapers and much more.

These Southampton sailings have been a huge hit and are selling very fast. Southampton has been such a hit for MSC that they have announced that the MSC Preziosa will be coming to Southampton for 2019. This will be the biggest every MSC ship to home port in the UK.
