MAGNIFICA BACK IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR 2021

Greetings cruisers

Yep me again from a very stormy Spain, at the moment we are all on red alert which is the highest and most dangerous weather warning, I have already had my bathroom leaking and I am running out of towels !

Anyway I am sure most of you are not interested in that !!!

So let’s move onto more important news

MSC have recently announced that one of their beautiful ships will be home porting from Southampton in 2021, this is great news for cruisers that like to sail from a UK port, no drama with packed busy airports and worrying about your weight of your suitcase.

The MSC Magnifica will be stretched by 23 meters, adding 215 new cabins ahead of her 2021 summer season from Southampton, the company announced today.

The stretch project is valued at $140 million, according to company officials; the 215 new rooms will include 92 balcony cabins.

Other additions will include a new water park, a new shopping area, two new restaurants and a redesigned kids area.

When work is completed, the MSC Magnifica will feature two new on board environmental advances to complement a wide range of existing environmental technologies across the company’s entire fleet: a state-of-the-art Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and next-generation Advanced Wastewater Treatment (AWT) system. The ship will also get a shore power system.

I for one can’t wait to see this new addition to the Southampton family, with more ships using Southampton it can only be a good thing, more choice and more competition, I hear that the prices are excellent value and now all your gratuities are included in the price. Their are quite a few mini cruises thrown in as well with fantastic prices for the lead in cabins, however you must be quick these cruises are selling fast.

It might just be exactly what the UK cruise market needs right now.

Anyways I need to get back to my leaking bathroom

Living the life !
