A Guide to Shore Excursions – Barcelona

In this weeks shore excursion guide I’ve decided to share some of the amazing excursions available in Barcelona. This was one of the highlights of my first cruise. As my  husband is a huge football fan the decision was made and of course we were heading to Nou Camp! This definitely wasn’t my choice but I have  to admit it, I really enjoyed this excursion. 

We were transferred to the famous football stadium and began our tour of the grounds. This started with viewing the visiting teams changing rooms and then onto the corridor where the players enter the ground. We then went off to the press room and interview room which was a great photo opportunity and finished with the Museum which has famous memorabilia and trophies on display. We also had free time to look around ourselves and even head to store for some keep sake souvenirs. On the return we made a quick stop at the Olympic Stadium which was another great photo opportunity before heading back to the ship. As I said, I really enjoyed this trip and it’s a definite ‘MUST DO’ for any football fans!

If you like to see the city there are plenty of excursions that take in the highlights of Barcelona. Many of these tours will include the Sagrada Familia one of the most famous buildings in Barcelona. Depending on the excursion, you may also be able to enter this beautiful building.

Another famous landmark is the Cathedral of Santa Eulalia. You can view this wonderful building as well as many others in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona.

If you’d rather watch the world go by, take an excursion to Las Ramblas where you can enjoy a coffee at a street side cafe and be entertained by one of the many street entertainers.

For a great family day out head to Fantasy Island Waterpark.Let the children enjoy the mini slides in their own pool  and  you can ride the Torpedo Slides, Kamakazes or Grand Rapids if your brave enough!!

A few other excursions to mention include visits to Tarragona, Montserrat and Sitges.

There is so many options to choose from in this amazing city, I’m sure you will agree you will be spoilt for choice!
