THIS WEEK WE WELCOME OUR NEW ROYAL BABY AND SAY GOODBYE A ROYAL FAVOURITE
I will let you into a little secret about me, I am a huge Royal Family Fan. So this week you can imagine how excited I was to hear that on Monday 6th May 2019 we had been born a new Royal Baby. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the first child of Prince Harry The Duke of Sussex and his beautiful wife Meghan The Duchess of Sussex. Such lovely news and I wish them all the love and happiness in the world.
Now my other Royal story is a little disappointing. On Thursday 9th May 2019 we were given the news from Royal Caribbean that they will be cancelling all of the Summer 2020 sailings on the UK’s most popular ship from Southampton Independence of the Seas. WHY?
ROI Associate Vice President & Managing Director Ben Bouldin stated: “This decision has been made in we deploy our ships to give guests the most desired destinations and experiences. This led us to keep Independence of the Seas in the Caribbean in 2020, due to her large success there and the evolution of our private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The Uk continues to be an important market for Royal Caribbean and it is why we are excited to welcome our Quantum class ship Anthem of the seas back to Southampton in 2020 to offer extraordinary holiday itineraries for our guests”
We sadly have to contact many family’s who are going to be extremely disappointed with this news from RCCL. Everyone who has booked will receive a full refund of the deposit paid and have also been given a future cruise certificate with 25% off a future Royal Caribbean cruise based on the original cruise fare paid and this is to be used within in 2 years.
So now the heat is on to find alternative cruise holidays for all of our customers who have been left without the cruise next year. We have Anthem of The Seas still based from Southampton next year however the prices have really increased over the last couple of days. We have P&O, Princess and even Fred Olsen offering more fantastic deals from Southampton.
