P&O are set to trial the launch of an All Inclusive drinks package later this month
On 21st July Azura will be the 1st ship to offer a package, it cannot be pre paid and can only be purchased on board
Previously P&O only offered wine packages, ice cream, soft drinks and Costa coffee packages, I am not entirely surprised they are trialing the package in line with the big US brands Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, NCL and Princess
There is a lot to be said for drinks packages if you don’t like the idea of paying for your drinks one by one and don’t like the idea of a hefty bar bill at the end of your cruise it is a good option
P&O’s bar prices are in line with UK pub prices and are lower than the American ships with a glass of wine around £4.50 against US prices of $12-$13 with additional service charge so I am surprised that the cost is almost the same as Royal Caribbean at £39.95 pp per day and are limited to 15 Alcoholic drinks a day
Before you can decide if a drink package is worth the cost, you need to understand which beverages are included in your cruise fare.
You can expect these drinks to be included and available during your cruise for no additional cost in the buffet restaurant
The question is – is this a good move by P&O?
YES it will make for an inclusive price, great for families
NO I think the older generation will be against the decision and lets hope this doesn’t turn P&O cruises into rowdy Booze cruises
Have you say below, I would love to hear your opinions!1
