Magellan part 2…

This time I’m going to tell you about all the fun activities Cruise and Maritime laid on for us.

On our first day at sea, we had a couple of activities arranged. The first was a treasure hunt this was designed to get us to familiarise ourselves with the ship. We had to work in teams, unfortunately, our team didn’t win however we did get to visit all the public areas. We found out things like how many pianos were on board, what was kept in the telephone box and also the name of some of the film stars adorning the walls in Sinatra’s wine bar.

The next activity was one of my favorites I mean how often do you get to visit the bridge… I loved every minute. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to touch anything maybe a good thing otherwise we would have ended up well off course. I loved how the route was plotted on huge maps I’m a real lover of a map… Apparently, they auction these off on some ships. We were told when the pilot would get onboard to take us through the difficult waters when entering the fjords. It’s a very interesting place and an activity I won’t forget..

Our next activity was learning how to make something that often appears in your cabin. Towel Art it was lovely to see how they made all creatures from frogs, monkeys, dogs to crabs. They could make most of these out of a large and small towel and was interesting to watch. I must say I did try it that night, however, didn’t turn out as well maybe I need to keep practicing.

The Galley this was next on the list another favorite of mine. The head chef took us around and explained things such as when the bread was made believe it or not it’s all made 1 hour 30 minutes before been served so super fresh. He also explained how much food they had on board when they took on extra supplies and where. It was immaculate in there. On Magellan, the galley is in between the two main restaurants so the food doesn’t have far to travel.

Our last activity was Cocktail making this was fun as we got to try one of everything they made! The guys from the bars showed off their skills with juggling the bottles full of alcohol mind a bit did land on the floor however it was really good fun watching.

I must admit Hayley, Amber & Ollie made sure we never had a dull moment and arranged so much for us it made the trip really special. Next time will be about the ports we visited and what we did ashore.

Thanks for reading
