My cruising addiction

There is a famous saying which is:  travel is the only thing that makes you richer – however after this week I think my partner will disagree and say it makes him poorer (but not in the sense the saying is meaning, but in the terms of his bank balance getting lower)

Working in travel can be so rewarding when you are helping people plan and book their next trips and even after 18 years of doing this job I still getting excited over every booking I make.  However I find it can also be quite dangerous for me as I seem to have developed an addiction to cruises and whenever I see a good deal which fits with our dates, my credit card seems to make an appearance and a booking takes place.

So currently we now have 4 cruises booked !  First one is next weekend when I am back on the fabulous Anthem of the Seas for the weekend as its my partners birthday and we have booked to do the ifly (sky diving simulator ) on his birthday and see the fabulous We Will Rock you Musical again, then in December we are off on Oriana for 4 nights to celebrate my mothers birthday and stock up on Belgian chocolates for Christmas. In March we are off on the Ventura for 7 nights around Spain, Portugal and France, and then my recent booking  which was this week, was when Harmony of the Seas (the new Royal Caribbean Ship which will the largest ship in the world) launched their two new mini cruises in May from Southampton, and seemed an offer to good to miss – so persuaded (really it was told) my partner we had to go on the ship as it would be unlikely we would get to see the ship again in Southampton. My partner has now learnt just to agree and let me book a deal when I see it.

Rather worryingly for my partners bank balance we don’t have anything booked for later in 2016 as we do like to do something September/October so I will just have to keep my eyes peeled for the next deal and ask for my credit card back which is has now hidden from me.

Have you developed a cruising addiction and do you have many booked in advance?

Next time I will let you know if my trip on Anthem of the Seas was just as good the second time round.
