Hands up who thinks cruising isn’t for them?

So you think cruising isn’t for you or maybe you would like to try cruising but am worried
once on board you are going to want to get straight off. Some of you will think cruising is full of older people and there is nothing to do, some of you will be worried about the bay of Biscay and others will be worried about the cost. Well here are a great few ideas that will give you a taste into cruising life and hopefully give you the cruising bug to book a longer trip.

How much would you normally pay for a 5* hotel in London for one night?- normally anything from £100 – £400 a night and then still have to pay for dinner and a show on top.

Well how about one night on board the beautiful new NCLGetaway in Southampton before she makes her inaugural crossing –

Prices start from £109pp and some of the features of the ship are: The Grammy Experience, Howl at the moon,,Illusionarium, Casino, Aqua Park, Carlos Bake Shop (from the hit TV show), Spa and an Ice bar, as well as choosing between 22 different dining venues and then seeing a show in the theatre.

There is also free car parking available.

Fancy something a little longer – today P&O and Cunard have released some new short break cruises.

So how much would you normally pay for a short break for 4 nights again in 4-5* accommodation in Europe? Normally about £300 – £ 600 and then still have meals to pay for. So why not consider the
4 night sailing on board the adult only Oriana departing Southampton on the 6th November 2014 sailing to Cherbourg and Zeebrugge (port for Bruges) prices start from £299 per person and all meals are included.

How about visiting the Bruges Christmas Market this year? Cunard have a fantastic offer on a 4 night sailing from
Southampton departing on the 26th November and sails to Zeebrugge and Le Havre. Prices start from £249 per person. I have recently booked onto this one and am really looking forward to firstly sailing on Cunard for the first time and secondly having the opportunity to go to the Christmas Market

So with all these short break offers available there is plenty of ways to try a cruise and see if your thoughts on cruising have changed. I was one of those who thought a cruise is full of older people and nothing to do – but how wrong I was and now have the cruising bug and  majority of my holidays are on board a cruise ship.

I would love to hear what your thoughts about cruising were until your tried it and how did your cruise change your mind? Where was your first cruise too and how long after was it did you go on another cruise?
