Time for a holiday

Well I am now officially on holiday countdown, I am off to Turkey on Thursday,cant wait .

I am visiting Fethiye for the 5th time this year having recently sold my holiday home I still cant keep away from the place, I love the culture the people the climate and the delicious food . Not to mention my favourite beach at Olu deniz, sipping Mojitos is my favourite past time along with tasting the lovely Meze.

I have been doing all the normal research even though its my 72nd visit, checking out the current weather to my surprise its still 36 degrees wow ! I am secretly preying it will drop a few degrees or I know for sure it means frizzy hair all week. The current exchange rate is at an all time high over 4.50 Lira to every English pound, so value for money cannot beat it. I love the Fish market in Fethiye were I normally have the garlic prawns followed by a lovely fresh Sea bream all washed down with the obligatory Raki or 3. It is so atmospheric in the evening with live music, the local gypsies selling fresh flowers and trying really hard to get you to have your palm read and see what fate awaits you. I personally can sit for hours people watching, love to see the rich coming to dine after a hard days sailing the Aegean on their Yachts . After that I normally have a wander around the harbour sit on some comfy bean bags and have an hour on the Water pipes or Shisha as they are known and ,maybe a Turkish Tea to sober up for the Dolmus ride back to my apartment .

I will also visit the village of Kaya Koy or Ghost down as its sometimes known this a beautiful typically turkish village with some beautiful countryside and lovely venues for picnics and BBQs all the restaurants will bring to your seating area and you can cook your own food its simply wonderful .
