My Thomson Adventure

Not so long ago I had the pleasure to have a Red Sea Magic cruise on board one of the Thomson’s ships the Spirit, so I wanted to let you know about it.

At first I wasn’t too sure about going on a Thomson cruise  as being in the travel industry for over 20 years, to me they were still really associated with BUCKET & SPADE  type holidays as opposed to cruising.

How surprised was I  by the end of the cruise.

The dining options they had to  offer are Waiter Service or Flexible options. We dined in the  fabulous Sirocco’s which is the a la carte restaurant and it  didn’t disappoint with a fabulous 6 course meal the steak was melt in your mouth steak. We did pay a cover charge but you do in most speciality restaurants. But if you don’t want to pay extra supplements you also have the Compass Rose Restaurant  which again you can enjoy a 6 course meal and is open dining so you’ve got the flexibility their too.

Also we had our Captains Cocktail night good excuse to dress up and we were given free champagne in the Broadway Show Lounge and even something more rare….. a photograph taken with the captain that’s something you don’t get with P&O etc these days, every passenger had their photo’s taken with him.

I can honestly say too the entertainment was the best I had seen on any of the ships I have been on and I have been on a lot of ships over the years rangeing from 3 star to 6 star, I absolutely love Lion King one of my favourite films from when the kids were young and they did the film proud. Also we had a WHO DUNNIT? production which was fabulous we all had to watch a scene from one of the productions we were all issued with pen and paper to make notes (lots of audience participation involved).  As I love the musicals my week was topped off by a superb Rogers & Hammerstein night.

So all in all I would thoroughly recommend any Thomson Cruise without any doubt.
