Lovely Britannia but where was the WOW!

As many of you will be aware I was lucky enough this week to have spent a night onboard P&O’s new flagship ‘Britannia’.  It really was a brief visit as our embarkation was delayed due to H.R.H being given a tour after christening her.  The Queen has previously christened the Royal Yacht Britannia and four other cruise ships: the QE2, the Oriana (another P&O ship) and Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth.  queen britannia

But her presence here today was significant for the cruise line which has spent nearly half a billion pounds building a contemporary ship, a “modern classic” for the British cruising market.

Maybe my title is a little harsh but to me it just lacked something………it was beautiful and I can’t really say I didnt like any part of it.  Maybe its the traditional low key british style compared to the american big and brash style such as Royal Caribbean with all their gimmicks!   To be honest whilst onboard I thought Britannia was very very similar to Princess……………..which i’m a big fan of.

Regulars of P&O in my opinion will love Britannia as its pretty much in the same mould as their others……just bigger!

I’ll keep this blog brief as I just wanted to show you an array of photos I took whilst onboard so you can see for yourself what it is like onboard.  Take a look and see what you think :
